Pupil Premium funding is allocated to schools by the government for children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings and children who have been continuously looked after for more than six months.
Schools are free to spend this additional funding as they see fit and are held accountable as to how the money is used. We are also required to make public a summary of how the funding has been allocated.
Children that qualify for pupil premium are:
-Children who are eligible for free school meals (FSM)
-Looked after children
-Armed forces children
From April 2014 additional pupils will be included:
-Children adopted from care
-Children under Special Guardianship on or after 30 December 2005
-Children under a Residence Order on or after 14th October 1991
The school has a very small proportion of children who are eligible for pupil premium.
