Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to St Teresa’s Catholic Academy.

At St. Teresa’s our vision, Safe, Happy and Successful Together with God, underpins all that we do. The children’s relationship with God begins as soon as they join us and it visibly develops as they progress through the school. We are very lucky to have our parish church, Corpus Christi, situated within our school grounds which enables us to develop close links with all members of our parish.

Our Foundation Stage Unit provides an outstanding environment in which our Pre-school and Reception children can learn and develop. We believe each child is entitled to a high quality and balanced programme of learning experiences. We have an integrative approach towards learning and we see each of our children as unique individuals.  There is a real sense of community within our school. Everyone is valued for their contributions to our schools success and our experienced, dedicated staff work wholeheartedly as a team, for the benefit of all the children in our care.

In the Early Years children learn by playing and exploring; we encourage our children to keep active and develop their creative and critical thinking. Our Foundation Stage Unit has a Free Flow approach; this allows children to independently choose to move between different environments thereby accessing a range of learning and development opportunities.

Our pupils are eager to learn and our exciting, creative curriculum motivates them as learners and leads them towards fulfilling their full potential – academically, socially and emotionally.  We encourage our children to have a Growth Mindset, demonstrating resilience and perseverance in order to succeed. Our aim is for every child to leave St Teresa’s as a confident and independent learner, equipped with all the life skills necessary to achieve success in every aspect of life.
