"A special kind of beauty exists which is born in language, of language, and for language."

At St. Teresas we teach French as our Modern Foreign Language to all our Key Stage 2 pupils in a fun and interactive way.  We believe that the study of a Modern Foreign Language is an important part of our pupils’ education which celebrates the cultural richness of our society and the world in which we live.  Pupils will grow their knowledge of how language works and explore differences and similarities between English and French.

Through an engaging and challenging MFL curriculum we help children develop key skills and knowledge in grammar, phonics and vocabulary.  The study of a foreign languages provides great opportunities for cross-curricular links and enables the children to further embed knowledge gained in other subjects.  We value the strengths of all and celebrate success.  Ultimately we aim to inspire a love of language as part of their lifelong journey of learning
