Smarter Way to Pay

Throughout the academic year schools will ask parents for various amounts of money to cover the costs of additional activities within the school. At St Teresa’s we have set up a scheme to help parents spread the cost, this scheme is called Smarter Way to Pay. 

The Smarter Way to Pay scheme enables you to spread your payments over 12 months and covers all the activities for your child.

The annual amount we request is £120.00. This can be paid either monthly by standing order of £10.00 or , annually at the beginning of each academic year. Please find below the breakdown of the costs involved for this academic year.

Monthly & Annual Payment costs

Trip fund - £40.00

This includes all day trips, theatre visits within school and educational days within school

Building Fund - £30.00

As a Catholic school we are required to pay £10.00 per child per term to the diocese to help maintain our school. We can then apply to the diocese as and when we need additional funds to help improve our building.

Extra Activities - £43.00

This amount of money accumulated throughout the time that your child is in the school to cover some additional activities that the children do. These are swimming in the Juniors and a bigger trip in Year 6.

Fun Activities - £7.00

This is to cover those activities that take place within the school that are on top of our usual curriculum. This includes our activity weeks that we have such as IT week and around the world week. We also use these funds for any cooking or food tasting that takes place. Each class has a budget for their parties throughout the year including their reward for the class getting their bronze, silver or gold smiley awards. We also use these funds for whole school celebrations such as the recent Coronation celebrations which enable us to commemorate such wonderful events.

Adhoc Payments

If you do not join the SWTP scheme we will charge you the adhoc payments via ParentPay

Whilst we understand there are many demand on families budgets and all payments are voluntary, without sufficient payment for these activities we may not be able to continue to provide the wide ranges of activities within the school.

For those paying monthly please arrange to set up a standing order of £10.00 per month to 46021168 at 30-93-20 in the name of St Teresa's SWTP a/c or Mother Teresa Catholic Academy Trust

For the annual payments please send a one off payment of £120.00 to 46021168 at 30-93-20

Gift Aid

If you join the SWTP scheme we are able to claim the gift aid from all payments received. This provides us with an additional 25% of the payments. In order to claim for gift aid the person making the donation must be a UK tax payer and have completed our gift aid form.

We urge parents to join the scheme which has always worked very well to fund the extra activities which are such an important part of your child’s time at the school.

 The children starting at the beginning of the academic year are eligible to join this scheme and a form is included within this pack. Any time after this date we request that parents pay for the activities as and when requested. An opportunity to join this scheme would then be available the following academic year.
