At St Teresa’s we provide high quality, modern PE lessons that engage our children. All teachers have the knowledge and skills they need to teach PE effectively across a variety of disciplines. All children are engaged and challenged in every lesson. We provide opportunities for all children to be active throughout the school day. They learn in a safe and fun environment to promote long-term health and well-being.

Children are taught how to lead a healthy lifestyle by eating sensibly and exercising regularly to promote the life-long passion for sport. Through teaching high quality ambitious lessons, children will practise skills in a range of different activities and situations, alone, in small groups and in teams. All children will be physically competent and confident through the planned, progressive curriculum and comprehensive extra-curricular programme. They are confident in their progression of skills and have good knowledge of vocabulary.

Our children are given the skills in chosen activities to achieve high levels of performance in a range of increasingly challenging situations. We promote a keen interest in PE -a willingness to participate eagerly in every lesson, highly positive attitudes and behaviour and the ability to make informed choices about engaging fully in extra-curricular sport.
