Safeguarding

Safeguarding and Child Protection:

At St Teresa’s we understand that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All members of staff, including teaching and support staff receive annual safeguarding training. This covers all areas in the DFE document, ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ September 2022- including the Prevent Strategy, FGM and Child Sexual Exploitation.

Mrs Peters is our Designated Safeguarding Lead and she attends regular training to keep up to date with all issues relating to child protection and safeguarding. The School has tight procedures that record issues that relate to child protection. We work with an array of agencies including Children’s Services, the School Nurse and the Police. Additional updates and training are given to staff as needed throughout the year.

Mrs Gray acts as the Designated Lead in Mrs Peters absence. Our named Safeguarding governor is Mrs Anne-Marie Eden .

In this ever changing digital world it is important to ensure our children are protected when using the Internet - we have listed some links below which you may find useful. If you have any concerns regarding Safeguarding please contact Mrs Peters or Mrs Gray via the School Office.
